Deleting your Encounter account

In the app

Open Profile, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account, then confirm. It happens straight away and can't be undone.

Without the app

Email support@getencounter.app from the email address you sign in with, or tell us the phone number you sign in with, with the subject "Delete my account". We'll check the account is yours, delete it within 7 days, and confirm by email.

What's deleted

Your profile, photos, interests and what you're looking for, the people you've blocked, and your sign-in. Your chats disappear for the people you were talking to, and any numbers you swapped are removed.

What's kept

• Reports you made or that were made about you, and any chat that was reported, for 2 years, to keep people safe.
• If you were turned away for being under 18, or banned, a scrambled (hashed) copy of your phone number or email, so it can't be used to sign up again.
